You see the anak of someone standing beside you waving the flag. You hear him ask his ayah, “Abah, apa sorakan itu ?” Ibu dia yang jawab. “Anak, ikut mak sebut, … Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka”

You see a man’s wife wearing a beautiful piece of saree, and you hear she say, “Vanakkam” to another man who is her brother that just arrived on the mall. The macha reply to her sister “nandri” to his sister and her husband with 8 fingers and 2 thumbs closed-up before he walk to the other side of the road.

You see a young girl wearing a perfect black dress talking to her father about her turn to be on stage. You may congratulated her father of her skill in violin like I did and in his response, you hear he say, “ xie xie  [谢谢]”

You see your Chief Minister walking up the stair to give a Ambang Merdeka speech and you hear him shouted, “Merdeka” seven times exactly same as Tunku did in 1957, which mostly everyone gathered around saying only once or thrice.

You commonly see different background of people and hear different languages being used around you but when it comes to #sehatisejiwa, whether he called “Abah” every day, or she greeted “Vanakkam” with 8 fingers and 2 thumbs closed up and the uncle who reply with a “xie xie” all three of them cheers as one of the same sound #sehatisejiwa after Datuk Seri Ir. Hj Haron bin Hj Idris.

I spend the rest of the time enjoying the Ambang. Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan.
