The Ching Dynasty’s chief taxation officer’s residence in Tamsui was built in 1870.

The architecture has mainly white walls, and is known locally as the “Little White House”. It’s an important historical monument in Taiwan, and is the very spot where the couple in the film shared their first kiss.

The “Little White House” has a stunning veranda and vaulted archways, giving it a sense of elegance and harmony. As the sun’s rays shoot between the gaps, shadows are casted onto the veranda, paired with the ash-white walls, it gives a rich exotic feel.

Directly in front of the observation deck are the Tamsui River and Guanyin Mountain. When night falls, lovers will gather to enjoy the glorious sight of the land awash in the setting sun’s red hues, and the glimmering water as it reflects the day’s last rays. It’s a view that’s not to be missed!
