Pahang | Fraser's Hill Bird Race

Located in the district of Raub, Pahang, this event started yesterday and end today 22 June 2014. Birders from the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa and other countries meeting at Fraser's Hill for this race.

Fraser's Hill itself is a paradise for more than 250 species of birds.

The Mountain Imperial pigeon is a species of pigeon found in south-eastern Asia and is also spotted in Fraser's Hill. Another bird common in south-east Asia is the colorful Silver-eared Mesia or Leiothrix argentauris. The Long-tailed Sibia distributed from central Nepal and the north east of India through Bhutan, southern China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, Sumatra is also spotted in Fraser's Hill. Beautiful Long-tailed broadbill or the Psarisomus dalhousiae is about 25 cm in length and is distributed in Himalayas, through north-eastern India to Southeast Asia roam in the Fraser's forest and lives on insects.

Fraser's Hill is a cool highland resort nestled among the mountains of Pahang and is about 2 hours away from Kuala Lumpur. It named after Louis James Fraser who arrived to explore the mountains of Pahang. There was a Gap Road whereby commuters take turn to go through. Fraser's Hill is a well preserved hill.
