Malaysia Berdaulat, Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku

My Sovereign Malaysia, My Native Land.

Unity, patriotism and oneness is going to make inroads into the people from this Merdeka and onwards.

'Independence is not something that is easy to get without great sacrifices' said Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra during the UMNO General Assembly on 5 April 1953.

As the year 1956 turned up, an entourage to claim sovereign sailed to England and with Tunku, great people we must not forget are his wife, Tun Dr. Ismail, Tun H.S. Lee, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Dato Panglima Bukit Gantang, Abdul Aziz Othman, Dato Mohd Seth and Dato Nik Ahmed Kamil.

The meeting was chaired by Lord Lennox-Boyd and the London Agreement was signed.

They returned from England and arrived in Heritage Melaka on 20 February 1956 to tell the people the date fixed as Independence Day. The entourage announced the date for Merdeka in front of the present Independence Memorial Museum situated next to the Portugal's ruined fort, A'Famosa. Dato Panglima Bukit Gantang also gave a clear message to the rakyat.

In addition, we must not forget the deeds of Tun Abdul Razak, the first Deputy Prime Minister, the father to the present Prime Minister Najib Razak, Tun H.S. Lee, the first Finance Minister and the MIC man, Tun V.T. Sambanthan.

Tunku also succeeded in developing his homeland and his efforts shall continue to benefit the rakyat as the Federation of Malaya become Malaysia after Merdeka. Now Malaysia is 1Malaysia and many transformations are taking their journeys with many original ideas and plans attributed for the betterment of the people as dedicated by YAB Najib Razak.
